During the late Northern Song Dynasty, there was a small place called Baihudang in the middle of Song kingdom and Liao kingdom. A good-looking and well-beloved widow in Baihudang was taken away by a soldier who was defending the boarder of Liao kingdom. The villagers of Baidudang became outraged and decided to take her back from Liao kingdom. However, when they arrived in Liao Kingdom, they found that they did not want to go back to their hometown anymore.

Oculus

Cloud Gate 2 was formed in 1999 by Lin Hwai-min, the Founder and ArtisticDirector of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre. It showcases talented young dancers in original works by innovative young choreographers. Wu Kuo-chu, the choreographer of Oculus, was a legend in the art circle of Taipei. While digging deep into the dark areas of life, his choreographies always glitter with hilarity. German dance critics have described Wus works as the perfect combination of playfulness, lightness and depth. Wu passed away in 2006. Oculus is a Latin word for eyes or eye-shaped window. It is also the circular opening on the roof of the Pantheon. Through Oculus , Wu simply speaks to the audience his hopes through movement.

The Unreality of Time

Time speeds past. There is so much to do, so much information to gather. We can hardly manage to concentrate on one thing for a long period of time.Spanish choreographer Marina Mascarell closely examines our perception of time. The production is the first collaboration between Marina Mascarell and New York composer Chris Lancaster. Dancers and Chris weave together the concept of time with a strong physical approach, creating a parallel world where the audience will have their own voice. They manipulate time by accelerating it, slowing it down and by stretching it. Dynamic and intense, The Unreality of Time offers an alternative for our relationship with time.

Shakespeare's Wives Club

The Shakespeares Wives Club tells a story that happened about the Shakespeares Wives Club Troupe (for short: Shakespeares Wives Club). The club was going to put on the best play of the year Othello. To increase the box office sales, the director invited one famous actress to join the performance. Just before the outset of the play, accidents emerged here and there. Some actor got injured in a traffic accident; the stage factory closed down without forewarning. The famous beautiful actress was envied by the chief actress of the troupe who spread rumors to disrupt the actresss relationship with her lover. Same with the story of Othello, these accidents were triggered by jealousy and someone took advantage of the opportunity and sabotaged the trust.

Evil thoughts came to this arrogant Thunder God and he began to trample on innocent people, almost cast this peaceful place into an abyss of anguish. Oppressed by Thunder God, human being finally rose against him.

That Guy

Based on the novel All Men are Brothers , one of the four literature classics, the main characters of the play That Guy were not the heroes that had been well known through the novel, but the Yamen runners, procuress and minions who were fairly anonymous. These nobodies existed at the very bottom of the society in a shell of human being as the so called That Guy.

Cooking a Dream, originated from a legendary novel of the Tang Dynasty, A Story of a Dream , has a history of over 1,200 years. Lu, a scholar who lived by farming, came across in a hostel an old Taoist priest, Lv. While they were waiting for the innkeeper to cook millet, Lv gave the young man a magical pillow, on which the latter fell asleep immediately. In his dream, he experienced a whole life, whereas woke up only to find that the millet was not cooked yet.
